We didnt just choose the Hayburn Wyke as the location for the solstice weekend because of the fine ales, food, rocky beach and paddock. The site was also chosen because it is easy to get to; by road and footpath, on foot, bike or by bus.
There will be car parking facilities available, however, we encourage people to don their cycle helmets and use the Old Railway line bridleway (from Scarborough or Whitby).
SAVE MONEY going by bike, bus or foot you won’t need a parking permit. Transport is available on request for equipment for more information email camping@solsticeweekend.co.uk
It only takes 45 minutes along the railway line on bike (ambling) from Scarborough, and just over an hour from Whitby. But forget about the time, enjoy yourselves, take in the surroundings, and enjoy a nice refreshing drink at the Hayburn Wyke when you arrive.
Cyclists please ensure that your bicycles are road worthy BEFORE setting off on the journey, and have repair kits with you. Install bike lights if you intend to ride at night.
